Boreal Biogeochemistry
Our research focuses on trace metal biogeochemistry, with a specific interest in metals required for biological nitrogen fixation. Our objective is to better understand how processes occurring at the molecular level impact ecosystems function and evolution at the global scale.
Current research projects include:
- Biological nitrogen fixation in high latitude ecosystems
- Micronutrient (metal) cycling in boreal forest ecosystems
- Trace metal acquisition by microorganisms and plants
Our multidisciplinary research is at the crossroad of analytical chemistry, molecular biology, soil microbiology and forest ecology. It relies on both laboratory and field experiments.
